1996 Volvo 850 TDI GLT Auto with rare options 198k miles at the last count, but with history like this does it matter?! Do you like Volvos? Do you like 50 mpg? Do you like really, really rare cars? Do you want to grab a bargain classic Swede? Do you want to take advantage someone else's misery? Do you want to help someone out when they really need a break? If you have answered YES to any of these questions, read on: Firstly, the Volvo 850 diesel, made for just a short while between 1994 and 1996, is the best car in the world, and I won't hear any arguments about that. (Unless you're talking about a saloon, and a saloon is just an estate that's not as good) If anyone wants to tell me otherwise, I will fight you. This one came to me the same way most 850 diesels do, because... people know me. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. That's not true but people do know that I love saving old Volvo estates. So, that's the intro, now for the facts: It’s Rare. There are about 60 Volvo 850 diesel's on the road and this is one of 6 GLT TDI Auto It has heated rear seats (and a passenger airbag) So in terms of what this car is, it’s got pretty much every option ticked. I’ve never seen that on a diesel. it’s rocking horse doo doo. Good bits: Yes, it’l run on veg oil Yes, it works. Or it did, read on… It is a low owner car with actually really good history. It’s been very well looked after It’s got a sunroof AND heated seats. Proper Geoff spec. The Less Good Bits It hasn’t got an MOT, but a lot of the work has been done ready for an MOT Drives seat is a bit worn so I’d probably have it repaired or go buy another seat The front wings are very religious. In fact, I’d even say they were holy. It’ll probably need a CV joint and let’s be honest, it’s a P80 Volvo, probably a ball joint or wishbone I don’t think it likes hot starting, so factor in a starter motor too Now the funny but very important and annoying bit: A chap wanted to buy it the other day so I made a video for him to show the engine running with no warning lights. After 15 seconds of showing my car off, the engine stopped and all the lights came on. Hilarious, I know right?! Thankfully it’s the belt on the left side of the engine that popped off, that’s the one that runs the fuel pump, so no drama, it’s just annoying. I’ve ordered a new belt and pulley for it. And yes I got it all on video and it's quite funny with a lot of swearing. This listing assumes you’re taking it on a truck and are going to fix it yourself. (I can help with transport, I've got Rescue Ron, he's the best) You might be thinking ‘ere Geoff, why are you selling it, don’t you love these?! Yes. Yes I do. But I already have a manual 850 TDI GLT estate AND another automatic 850 GLT estate and you can’t drive 3 at the same time. I tried it once, there was a big, very slow crash. Pre Youtube career. I had planned to do all the work on that list and then either run it around or find a new home for it, heck I don’t know, I never know what the plan is when I buy a car it’s just like Pokemon with these Volvos and apparently I have been trying to collect ‘em all, but it’s winter now, so I’d rather fill my manual 850 up with (now quite expensive diesel) and f right off for a few months. BMW E39 530d It’s an early pre facelift with Msport bumpers and seats also means it’s the cheaper tax bracket. Has Mot til May 2027 and drives flawlessly. Just took it on a trip up north and it was lovely gets 42mpg on the motorway. It’s had a recent radiator and viscous fan replacement and blower motor resistor. Also as it’s an early car it doesn’t have swirl flaps so that’s another worry you don’t have to worry about. It’s had Angel eyes fitted to give it that iconic bmw look that the facelift models have. Only downsides to the car is it has a small chip in the windscreen (smaller than a 5p piece) and the drivers door seal is deteriorated. 2017 67 plate Vauxhall Mokka X with 60k on the clock. Full Vauxhall service history minus the last service as we replaced the timing belt at 56k (May 2026) Both keys and all book packs present. The car is without any known fault and drives very well with no rattles etc. Bodywork is good as are the tyres which have plenty of tread left and no marks on the alloys.
