GeoffTrader is Geoff's dealership site for buying and selling cars.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide, such as a display name or contact preferences. If you list a car, we store the listing details, photos, and location information you submit. We also collect information generated by your use of the site, such as favourites, comments, and contact unlocks.
Email verification
We require email verification for account-gated actions. Your email address is used to verify your account, send transactional messages related to your activity, allow you to recover your account, and help reduce disposable-account abuse that would otherwise undermine trust between buyers and sellers.
How we use information
Your information is used to operate the site, display listings, facilitate contact between buyers and sellers, and manage your account. We do not use your information for advertising or profiling.
Sharing
GeoffTrader does not sell your personal information and does not use account emails to spam users. Information may be shared only where reasonably necessary to operate the website, email, or hosting services, to facilitate buyer-seller contact that you trigger through the site, or where required by law.
Subscription billing
Stripe processes subscription payments. GeoffTrader sends Stripe the account and plan information needed to create and manage a subscription. We retain Stripe customer, subscription and product identifiers, billing status, billing-period dates and minimal webhook-processing records so we can apply the right seller allowance and investigate failures. These private identifiers are not shown on public profiles or sent to analytics.
Full card numbers and security codes are entered on Stripe's hosted pages and are not received or stored by GeoffTrader. Stripe processes this information under its own privacy notice. GeoffTrader may send account or email notifications about activation, payment failure, cancellation and recovery; those messages do not include card details.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, or object to how it is used. To make a request, use the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact us first using the contact form so we can try to put it right.
