Your checklist

A practical checklist from GeoffTrader to use alongside Geoff's video.

  1. Get your details together

Have the make, model, year, mileage, MOT expiry and asking price ready. Include the history you have and explain any known faults. A specific description is more useful than 'first to see will buy'.

  2. Create your account and verify your email

You can browse without an account. To list a car, sign in and verify your email, then open Submit a Car. Check your available listing slots in your account.

  3. Write a clear advert

Give the car a useful title, choose its make and model, and describe its condition honestly. Set your price and location. GeoffTrader is for vehicles priced at £10,000 and under.

  4. Add useful photographs

Show the whole car, the interior and the details a buyer will want to inspect. Include damage rather than hiding it. Keep personal documents and contact details out of the photos.

  5. Check contact preferences and publish

Check your seller contact preferences, then review the advert before publishing. Your contact details are revealed through the site's verified buyer flow, rather than displayed publicly. You can save a draft if you are not ready.

  6. Keep the advert up to date

Answer questions, correct anything that changes, and mark the car sold when it has found its next owner. You can manage your advert in My Listings.
