Saab 9000
1998 Saab 9000 Aero - Manual
Due to a change in health I'm regretfully selling my 9000. I bought it in March, have spent several thousand pounds on it because I'm meticulous about cars and I expected to keep it, but here we are. My loss can be your gain! It is in generally excellent condition, as the photos suggest. The interior has a pleasant patina commensurate with the age, but no issues. The exterior is in very good condition with just some scuffs to the bumpers to note, personally I consider this part of the usable charm of the car, no stress parking it in the real world. A few stone chips on the bonnet, otherwise the paintwork looks fantastic with lots of positive comments at shows etc. It has a full hydrophobic coating currently, and the glass is all original. Elephants in the room: it has done 253,000 miles. However the first 200,000 of these were done in its first 10 years of life while it was maintained twice a year at its local Saab dealer. Every invoice from this period is present showing the level of maintenance. It also had a colossal amount of work done around 3 years and 5,000 miles ago including an engine top end rebuild, turbo rebuild, and various bits of welding underneath. Full details and photos available on request. In short I can assure you the condition belies that mileage figure, and again to me that adds to the charm! The last MOT was also a challenging affair. I think the tester was having a bad day. The "corroded rear subframe" was particularly harsh, given these cars don't have a rear subframe..! He was referring to the rear axle beam, a 3 inch thick piece of solid steel that ain't going anywhere. Nonetheless I've had the whole area wire brushed to remove surface corrosion and under sealed, again photos available on request and you can of course come and look yourself. This is not a corroded car. Everything else listed I've had fixed, invoices available on request. So, onto the usual ad list! - 4 matching pirelli cinturato tyres with plenty of tread - discs and pads unremarkable - leaking not a drop of oil or coolant, invoices to prove recent leaks all fixed (at great expense!) - absolutely no rust in any of the usual places, arches are immaculate - delightfully smooth engine and gearbox which has had some improvements, details available on request - headlining is perfect - no water ingress anywhere (I check!) - STACKS of paperwork all organised in chronological order by me across 2 big folders. I'm talking hundreds of invoices, service history, details of every keeper since new with contact details and how long they owned it, original book pack, period correct advertising literature, photos of restoration, a copy of the Saab Vs blog it was featured in, the documentary provenance of this car is truly exceptional even for a Saab. Took me hours to gather and organise it all. Points to note - The AC has worked recently, but doesn't currently. I have an invoice for a recent pressure test and regas that it passed, but within about a month it wasn't working again, so an annoying leak somewhere. Equipment itself is all working fine though - the central locking is click-clackety but functions fine. I'm assured this is not an urgent issue - there are bits and bats to sort, like the drivers seatbelt buckle is cracked, minor things like that Overall I'd describe this as a "top end of usable" car. At shows it looks like a concours car at first glance, you don't see many saabs looking as good as this. Up close you realise it's actually being used, what with the mileage etc, which makes it truly remarkable. There are bits to sort being a 28 year old car, but it is not a project. It is a good to go modern classic that you can use and enjoy straight away. Hundreds of photos available on request, any and all questions answered. Looking for offers in the region of £5500. I also have a genuine Saab red top DI Cassette in the boot, unused, available for £150 separately or included for offers at 5500 or higher. "First with funds" gets the car, simple as that.

Got a car to sell?
I need three things: a photo, a price, and a location. That's it.* Nothing over £10,000.
*Well, that was the original plan. But Laura insisted we add a few more details to keep things above board. So now there's make, model, year, mileage… you get the idea.
Simple really. Someone has a car to sell. Someone else wants to buy a car. GeoffTrader puts the two in the same room and lets them get on with it.
We want to create a website where real people can sell real cars to other real people. No messing, no jumping through hoops... just cars.
